Introducing Geoffroy Gnoleba (Oven Operator) in a short interview about his mission at REAZN.
WHO ARE YOU?
Hello, I am Geoffroy Gnoleba, Ivorian, born in Daloa. I arrived in Europe in 2002. I first worked in Italy in the textile industry. I was a machine operator and forklift driver. I then moved to Belgium in 2016 and it was at the end of 2021 that I started at REAZN as an oven operator.
WHAT’S YOUR MISSION IN THE COMPANY?
My main task is to ensure that the melting furnaces work properly. I have to supply them with the raw materials and our furnaces are very demanding. I also have to monitor combustion and then transfer the molten metal. All this is not done by hand, so I spend a lot of my day driving forklifts, bulldozers and other handling equipment.
WHAT IS THE MOST CHALLENGING PART OF YOUR JOB?
The hardest part of my job is not the heat, contrary to what you might think. No, the hardest part is working carefully and safely. We use large vehicles and obviously need to carefully respect the internal circulation rules within the plant. You have to be concentrated and attentive at all times.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT WORKING AT REAZN?
I like driving the trucks and I especially like the atmosphere and the team. I feel like in a family. I never found that in my previous experiences and that’s nice.
