MEET THE TEAM

We introduce you to Dan Boangiu (Production Team Leader) in a short interview about his mission within REAZN.

WHO ARE YOU?

I am Danut Gheorge but everyone calls me Dan. I am just 42 years old, I am Romanian and I studied mechanics for agricultural machines. I worked for 6 years in Italy, in the steel industry, before moving to Belgium. I started at REAZN in 2013, (10 years already, time flies). The first two years I worked as a furnace operator and since 2015 I have moved on and I am now a production team leader.

WHAT IS YOUR MISSION IN THE COMPANY?

I coordinate production, I have to reach the daily objectives and for that I organize and manage my team composed of 6 operators. I make sure that production is smooth and continuous. I am responsible for the quality of the finished products that my team produces. I ensure that procedures are followed (whether in terms of manufacturing, safety, quality, etc. ….). My job has really different faces: for example I am also using lab equipment to control the analysis of the metal during production.

WHAT IS THE MOST DIFFICULT PART OF YOUR JOB?

I love working with metal. I do it with my heart, but the hardest part of my job is that my heart is in Romania. The distance means that I don’t see my family often. Of course my wife and children are with me and we love to live in Belgium but the rest of my family is in Romania. I only see them twice a year.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT YOUR JOB AT REAZN?

I learned my job on the ground. I like working with materials, with metal. Doing the analyses. I always have an eye on the whole production. When I’m here, I’m also everywhere. I like this versatility and the fact that we recycle. It’s important to me, it’s part of my values. My team is like a second family.

When I’m not at the factory I fish and hunt.
