European Die Casting Competition 2024
Our customer and partner HDO Druckguß- und Oberflächentechnik GmbH has won the 1st prize in the Zinc category at the European Die Casting Competition 2024. Congratulations!
The awarded product is the HDO sanitary component “Blende 4-Verbraucher” for a high-quality and exclusive shower system by AXOR. With a length of approximately 60 cm and a weight of 1.3 kg, it is a very large component with particularly high requirements for surface quality and dimensional stability.
This component demonstrates the special geometries, designs, and surface coatings possible in zinc die casting. Furthermore, it showcases the potential for saving resources and CO2 through the use of secondary materials.
Produced with high-quality zinc alloys from REAZN, which are made from upcycled zinc-containing industrial by-products and post-consumer scrap. REAZN zamak alloys have an average recycling content of 80-100 %. Ultimately, this results in fewer mining and transportation activities, saving resources and reducing the industry’s carbon footprint.
