Sustainability Officer
We are looking for an ambitious and passionate Sustainability Officer to join our team in Belgium (Kruisem). You will support the Sustainability Manager to bring the REAZN Group beyond compliance and to develop, implement and monitor sustainability initiatives across our organization.
About REAZN:
The REAZN Group is the biggest recycling expert for premium, customized, prime-grade zinc alloys in the world. We employ 130 zinc experts in three countries and produce more than 100.000t of zinc alloys a year for about 400 customers worldwide. REAZN recovers value from the waste stream to provide the industry with zinc alloys which are up to 97.5% less carbon-intensive compared to primary zinc producers. Your mission:
As a Sustainability Officer, you will have the opportunity to learn and grow within the field of sustainability while contributing to meaningful initiatives that drive positive change. You will work closely with our experienced sustainability team to support the development, implementation, and monitoring of sustainability programs across our organization.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in data collection, analysis, and reporting on key sustainability metrics.
- Engaging with stakeholders on sustainability initiatives and promoting sustainability awareness internally and externally.
- Providing administrative support for sustainability projects and initiatives as needed.
- Assisting in sustainability assessments to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Supporting the implementation of sustainability initiatives, such as energy efficiency programs, waste reduction efforts, and community engagement activities.
- Preparing and facilitating internal trainings on Sustainability topics.
- Researching best practices and trends in sustainability to inform strategy development.
- Assisting business partner discussions and driving sustainability marketing communication.
What we require:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
- Strong passion for sustainability and minimum three years of experience in sustainability-related projects.
- Interest in the European and Belgian non-financial reporting requirements (CSRD/ESRS/EU Taxonomy).
- Experience in Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) is a plus.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to travel.
- Fluent in English and Dutch, strong knowledge of French is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
